Forschungsschwerpunkte

Am Universitätsklinikum Bonn bin ich wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin im BMFTR-Verbundprojekt ‘NAWiStem3D’. Das Forschungsprojekt untersucht epistemische, ethische und gesellschaftliche Fragen in Zusammenhang mit aus Stammzellen generierten dreidimensionalen Modellen des Gehirns, sogenannten neuronalen Organoiden. 

In meiner Promotion im Fach Philosophie, betreut von PD Dr. Susanne Lettow, FU Berlin, rekonstruiere ich philosophische Zugangsweisen zu lebenswissenschaftlicher Forschung und identifiziere Ansatzpunkte für eine Transformation derselben. Ein besonderer Fokus liegt dabei auf der Verwobenheit ethischer Fragestellungen mit epistemischen, sozialen, ökonomischen, kulturellen und politischen Aspekten sowie auf Konzepten und Methoden zur Analyse und Reflexion normativer und politischer Dimensionen wissenschaftlich-technischer Entwicklungen und ethischer Interventionen selbst, wobei ich insbesondere auf Ansätze der Science and Technology Studies, der feministischen Wissenschaftsphilosophie und der Praxisphilosophie rekurriere. 

Weitere Schwerpunkte in Forschung und Lehre liegen in der Public Health Ethik, Ethik der Versorgungsforschung, historischen und gegenwärtigen Formen von Rassismus in Medizin und biomedizinischer Forschung sowie ethischen Fragen partizipativer Forschung.

At the University Hospital Bonn, I am a research associate in the BMFTR collaborative project “NAWiStem3D.” The research project investigates epistemological, ethical, and societal issues related to three-dimensional models of the brain generated from stem cells, known as neural organoids. 

In my doctoral dissertation in philosophy, supervised by PD Dr. Susanne Lettow at Freie Universität Berlin, I am examining philosophical approaches to life sciences research and identifying starting points for transforming these approaches. A particular focus is on the interweaving of ethical questions with epistemic, social, economic, cultural, and political aspects, as well as on concepts and methods for analyzing and reflecting on the normative and political dimensions of scientific and technological developments and ethical interventions themselves, drawing in particular on approaches from Science and Technology Studies, feminist philosophy of science, and philosophy of practice. 

Other key areas of research and teaching include public health ethics, the ethics of health services research, historical and contemporary forms of racism in medicine and biomedical research, and ethical issues in participatory research.
